Stay:
A verb that commands one to remain in the same place.
A noun that confines one to a certain space.

Don't be too much they say,
You have to stay put, just where we want you.
Don't be too loud they say,
You have to stay quiet, just how we like you.

That's too much colour - tone it down!
That's not manly - take it off!

The constant pressure to conform.
The tiring reminders to be exactly what is expected of you.

But I am not your pet.
I refuse to be on a leash
I refuse to exist within the boundaries that you have created.

I am where freedom lives.
I am where opportunity breeds.
I am where everyone matters.
I am Generation equality.

(This is for anyone who has ever felt like they’re not enough because they are different. Here’s to say your rights matter, regardless of your gender or age or whatever metric people use these days. You matter, period!)

Ps: I’d really love for this piece to reach as many who are relentlessly pushing for generation equality, please comment, clap and share. Thanks🤗
